WHO IS THIS CLOWN?
Riley is a British-American comedy writer living in Los Angeles
ready to write you funnies to make you monies.
"No, you can't place my accent."
After abandoning a career in medicine (not competitive enough), Riley started his love affair with comedy after a completely-embarrassing-to-think-about-now audition for Boston College's renowned improv troupe My Mother's Fleabag (alum: Amy Poehler, Tom McCarthy, Nancy Carrell).
Taking after his childhood hero Jim Carrey, Riley then started his short-lived "serious acting" period after gaining a place at the fancy-sounding Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (alum: James McAvoy, Richard Madden, Alison Brie). But after appearing in productions at Shakespeare's Globe, the National Theatre, and the Edinburgh Fringe - the fans demanded the funnies.
"Should I put in the part where I sucked at acting?"
"Save something for the interview."
In 2016, Riley self-produced his self-penned short Help! I'm Trapped In A Movie which not only screened at Oscar and BAFTA qualifying film festivals around the world but also won him the IMDb New Filmmaker of the Year Award --- spring-boarding his career as a comedy screenwriter.
Since then Riley has: created and directed his own completely improvised webseries 8:58, written plays staged at Off-West End venues, and appeared at London's top comedy venues with his long-form narrative improv troupe Other People's Children.
"This was both way too long and way too short
to sum up my entire life."
This year Riley moved to Los Angeles to chase his dream of writing comedy for film and television. How could he possible fail?
